I think it might be noisy. That wouldn't bother me, but it sounds like it might a negative for you. They say they have a pool, but a friend told me that she thought it was in the shade much of the time. Not sure on that. When I was looking for a place to stay cheaply, Casa del Mar was very close in price. We opted to stay there because it has a sunny pool with many chaise lounges and is right across the street from the beach. It sounds to be more what you are looking for. I was warned that it might be a noisy hotel since many divers stay there. Well, we were the first room off the lobby and we had no noise whatsoever in July. I know that is off season, but it was pin-drop quiet. Casa del Mar is very nice for the money and I will return there. The staff is friendly and the gardens are gorgeous. I would highly recommend it for people on a tighter budget. It doesn't have the luxury that others will pay for at the 4 and 5 star hotels. It is more than adequate for my needs. I have heard that their Dive Op, Del Mar Aquatics, is not the best. But you can use Dive with Martin or Sea Urchin, which get better reviews and still get picked up at your pier. I don't dive, so this is just info I've gleaned from the boards. Regarding go during the noisy time or wait...well, I can see no reason to wait. I would go tomorrow if I could swing it. I love the place and don't think I'll be able to afford another trip until next summer. Therefore, I hover over this board and dream. Don't wait. If you can afford the peak season trip, do it. Cozumel is a great place and worth every penny you will spend to get there. I was there over Easter break last year and had a great time. We never ran into crowds that caused any problems. We were warned about how busy things get when the cruise ships are in, but we had no trouble in that respect. I have nothing but great things to say about Cozumel. Do it! Do it! Do it! : I've been reading about many things that are helpful
