My daughter and I just got back (Oct 7) and stayed at Fiesta Inn for the first time. The hotel was very nice, tho the bathroom was a bit small for dealing with dive gear.Pool was huge, but hot tub was turned off. Storage bins for gear are across the street and ok. Any dive operator will pick you up at the Fiesta Inn dock.(we used Aqua Safari)Restaurant prices were high and selection limited. The buffet was not available because not many people were at the hotel. It is (for me) a little to far to walk to town, and there is nothing nearby.
I've stayed at Casa del Mar many times and have always been pleased. The restaurant is okay, but Ernesto's is right next door, and another place is a short walk. Their dive operation, Del Mar Aquatics is okay, but Scuba shack, just across the street is better (my opinion), but again, any dive operator will pick you up at the dock. If you need a bit more luxury, opt for the ocean view rooms, which are a bit larger. Cab to town is inexpensive and there are all kinds of great restaurants.
