If not, there are packages (although they may all be gone.) You know, for the eight dollars difference, I would go with the Hotel Club del Sol. (That IS the hotel we're talking about isn't it?) Since I haven't been inside either hotel...Days Inn or Club del Sol, I would choose the one at Dzul Ha reef. Days in is on 11th (a major street) and is snuggled between buildings. It is a few blocks away from the ocean as well. I gather you haven't been to Cozumel before. On my first two trips I HAD to be ocean front. Now it doesn't matter. I still spend most of my time oceanside, but stay at Alicia's which is back in residential. When I was looking for a cheap way to go, I booked a package at Casa del Mar. It was rated two stars and it was perfectly fine. I think you'd have to have a package deal to get a good rate though. I would recommend Casa del Mar in a minute. Friends on the Travelnotes board have recommended the Flamingo Hotel as a good "cheap" place to stay. They've also recommended Days Inn. I think Flamingo is nearer the ocean (maybe even on), but I don't know. I am NOT an expert. I just talk a lot! :o) I've been to Cozumel five times for a total of six weeks. There are people on the Travelnotes board who live on the island or have been visiting for 15-20 years. I am a novice....but I talk a lot. :o) Hotel Lorena looks to be okay, but I don't know anyone who has stayed there. Once again it is an economy hotel...but it's on the ocean. I think it's on Paradise reef and that's a good snorkeling site too. Good luck in your search and let us know where you stay and how it goes. We'd like to know what you find.
