The Fiesta Inn is highly recommended--it is a very nice hotel and is a great value. It is slightly south of town, but still close enough to the excitement. It is right across the street from the beach and a pier. It is comparable to the more expensive beachfront Plaza las Glorias or Fiesta Americana, so don't waste your money on those. La Ceiba is also a great hotel for divers--it is on the waterfront and is right next to the international pier.
