If you have not read my posting Please do so....
This last trip was BAD BAD BAD.... But I still have faith that MLT will come thru.... I have actually contacted a lawyer and he had advised that I protest my credit card billing until this matter is resolved... I have made many charter air flights but this one ???????

Pre leaving on vacation....

We are booked for July 25-28,2001. 3 nights

First we were booked into The All-Inclusive Barceló Club Las Perlas (3 Stars).
The Internet fact sheet for Barceló Club Las Perlas needed review...
We found incorrect information...
This information has now been corrected...
but on a 3 night stay you are not allowed anything other than buffet meals.
I had looked at the Resorts web site and discovered this and
after 3 calls to MLT they admitted this was fact and now have
made the changes and noted this on the current web site page..

We made this Resort change mainly because of the the meal thing and 2.5 star rating ...
When we found this error I had ask to just go air-only due to this error but the change was to expensive....

My oldest child is in the airline industry and we could have booked into the El Dorodo Resort and Spa direct,
at her rate of $60.00 per person per night.
We did have contact with them on this matter and they called me and told me the documents to fax or bring to get the rate...
The man called me at home and identified himself as JEsus.
We e-mailed him back to tell him we had to stay with MLT booking due to penalty cost to re book.. Air Only....
Note we had ask for king beds/ adjoining rooms.
2 rooms at a total cost of $720.00 vs MLT $864.00 for 1 room quad.
We did make the change with MLT because doing the re-booking air-only, the penalty
was about the same....
What we did not realize at this time ..... was that the MLT rate was quad sleeping in 1 room..
our first request was for King bed..

You can go back to last year we booked same 4 people to Jamaica Sea castles Resort,in July week 2,
I did this with a call to the MLT booking #.
This 2 star Resort was better than the 4 star Resort we stayed in this year.
They were closing due to new owners and to re-model and re-do the beach area
3 or 4 weeks after we left in July last year.

Arrival date ..... July 25,2001 arrived Cancun Airport

At the outside transportation area they had us booked to the Barceló Club Las Perlas...
I informed them we were to go to the El Dorodo Resort and Spa ...
We had changed and showed the the documents.
They put us in a limo... we discovered the other couples were going to the El Dorodo Royal.
We had to get out and reload into a different limo...The air-conditioner was not working properly...

Arrived at Resort ....
They told us we had 1 room and King bed they would bring a roll-a way for us.

I informed them we had conversation with JEsus and this must be a mix up...

We were wanting 2 rooms adjoining with king beds.... we waited for over 30 min while they looked.
We finally ask to go have lunch and after 1 hour went back to be told
if we wanted to pay the full rack rate they would put us in 2 rooms.

They had no JEsus that worked in reservations and I explained that done this over the Internet and the Resort Web page ...it had no help...
We were finally taken to the room... It did have 2 regular beds......

Later at the end of the 4:00 pm meeting the MLT motel Rep. had to book daily trips. We went and talked with her and she went to them.
She came back and showed us on the booklet that we had booked a room with 4 people... I showed her the documents we had brought and still nothing.

The MLT Rep. left and we then tried to book into the a la carte dining to find that they were booked full thru Friday...
meaning we had to and did eat in the main restaurant every meal except Thursday night they had a
out-door Mexican Fiesta... (it rained on it).
We told the MLTRep this and she did get a offer for the Mexican restaurant Friday but we declined due to
the fact that is the night for the Seafood Special where we had been eating..
The Resort needs a more fair way to book the other restaurants. We saw several empty tables at the dinner seating..
MLT web site claims 4 restaurants We only found 3..... Where was the 4th?? Remember we paid $39.00 each
to move to a place we did not have to eat buffet meals.

The Resort may be Beachfront but the beach is bad ....... So rocky that they had 4 men working on the
small swim area............. by hand digging out and chipping the entire time we were there.
Even the snorkeling was not that good because the waves made it unsafe to get to close into the reefs...

I reported the steps at the pier needed repair the 2nd day..... 2 people fell going into water .This was never worked on...
The other thing I reported was behind the restaurant going to our room the concrete had been redone
and the sharp incline was slick it needed to be re-done rough several people were slipping on this..

We met a couple from Texas that had to move from the room they were in due to the sewage smell backing up
into there room. We encountered this smell in several locations at different locations outside .
It was very strong and was raw sewage ... like plugged septic tank.

The 2nd afternoon we ask the MLT rep. to be moved a different resort
and someone from the MLT office in Cancun called our room at 6pm on Thursday
and explained our options and the extra cost for moving...we would have had to pay for the day
at El Durodo and pay for the day at at resort we moved to. We were told at every turn the extra cost to do anything...
We just decided to mark this one off and stay...

I did not fee MLT there really cared about what we were going thru...


Flight Out......Sat. July 28,2001

Called at noon to verify flight time ....
arrived at Cancun airport 6:00pm to check-in found out our flight was delayed 2 hours......

Also found Cancun flights to St. Louis delayed 2 hours then delayed again to 7:30pm or 8pm
and this entire group was bused out of airport for lunch/drinks ...and dinner/drinks to be
dropped off and left at the local Sheraton Downtown.. later busses returned the to the airport to take the Plane Out at
at 8:00 then delayed again to 11:35pm arriving St Louis approx 2:25am to go thru customs...

Then the DFW flight was canceled at approx. 8:40pm and re-booked for 15 hours later...
We were told we would get $20.00 dinner vouchers actually after 30 min.we were then given $10.00 vouchers.
I had walked over to the other side of the terminal same floor and ordered a pizza and
was told they were not good on this side,only good in our wing of the airport..and this was fact...
We had to re-claim our luggage....Then at 10:30pm we were taken by several buses to local hotels for the night..
The couple we were with, after being told that they had run out of rooms..
did not get in a room until 12:30 am. They were in the back of the bus and we were in the front.
We were finally all booked into the Downtown Holiday Inn Cancun.. and given breakfast vouchers..
We did get 2 rooms.... oops.....
Worry free Vacations...HA!!! HA!! But this was no laughing matter...
No help was given anyone on making phone calls home / notifying work or
changing flight reservations or booked motels in Dallas...

I had to pay for the Sat. night reservations I had made at the Holiday Inn Select DFW.
We were to arrive DFW at 10:45pm on Sat. night ...extra parking for 1 day 2 cars.
They live in Amarillo, Texas we live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
We had to make collect calls to the USA from Cancun Airport to notify family.

We were just so tired of the airport and checking and rechecking luggage.. Glad we were out of there!!!!!!

The people on the St Louis flight were given our plane to get them home and we got the bump????????
We can not prove this as of jut but this is what was being said at the airport ... The St. Louis group was told at one time before we left
They would be flown to Dallas and go to customs to re-board to go to St. Louis due to customs being closed, but we did find out this did not happen.

Anyone having information to get the proper compensation for this ... champion Air / Worry free vacation.....vacation from Hell...

I have a list of approx 20 people so far...

I did find that charter flights are not treated by the same DOT gov. rules... Once we get a offer to settle , I am going to a lawyer to let him review the offer.
