Alternatives to Cozumel???

I've talked to so many travel agents by now and I can't find an all inclusive on the beach for under a grand. I have thought Cancun but I'm not in to clubbin all that much. From the pictures I have seen it looks to civilized for me, I could just go down to the Florida Keys and save a lot money. Any other nice places in Mexico on the beach and maybe a club like Carlos and Charles would do.
