Re: Beach Access Snorkeling in Cozumel - HOTELS?Posted ByMichigan Trudy on September 10, 1999 at 23:39:24: In Reply to: Re: Beach Access Snorkeling in Cozumel - HOTELS? posted byMonica on September 08, 1999 at 00:00:48: I stayed at the Fiesta Americana in April of this year. We really liked it. I would recommend it to anyone. Returned to Cozumel on a shoestring and stayed at Casa del Mar. I enjoyed that as well. We went on the Arrecifes and snorkeled four reefs. It was great!!!! It was the best snorkeling I've ever done. The day long trip cost $55 USD/person and included beverages on the boat and buffet lunch at the Reef Club. I was not impressed with the food at the Reef Club, although I didn't go away hungry. I know the food at Fiesta Americana is better. Monica is probably right that the food at FA is pricey. We stayed all inclusive so the price was a non-issue. I would encourage you to book a day on the Arrecifes. Eduardo will show you many things you might otherwise miss. You can book the trip through Kuzamil Snorkeling Center which is owned and operated by Jorges Munoz Buenfil. It's totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! : FIESTA AMERICANA REEF!!! Sorry for shouting. We have been there 2 times, the last time in August. It's the best snorkling. It is on the Chankanaab Reef, so abundant fish. You just walk across the street, and you are there in turquoise water. Last month it was absolutely beautiful. Our day consists of getting a palapa right on the edge so that the breeze blows on us, head for the water, and get in. The FA-Reef is really nice. The pools are really nice, too, especially the main pool. How long are you going to be there? Last time, we rented a vehicle because the hotel is out of town and the food is pricey. A cab is about $80 pesos, but I can't remember if that is round-trip, or one way. Either way, I would recommend this hotel highly. Any questions, feel free to e-mail me. : : HELP! We are planning a trip in November, possibly to either The Reef Club Isla Cozumel or Fiesta Americana. We really don't have much to base our decision on because we don't know that much about these places. What we want to be able to do is SNORKEL, SNORKEL, SNORKEL from the beach in front of our hotel...or real close to it. We just got back from Playa del Carmen last week and were very disappointed that there was no snorkeling near. Any suggestions for hotels that will allow us this luxury?
