El Cozumeleno and diving

: We just came back from 5 day-trip to El Coz and liked it. The view from the room was beautiful-most rooms are ocean-view. We stayed in the old part. The room was HUGE. The maids kept the place very clean (she was very nice), however, since it is very old the bathroom was not the greatest. Security was not a problem. We will probably request the new section if we go back. The service at the resort was great overall but front desk staff were not that friendly. The pools and the beach in front of the hotel are wonderful!!! We saw an octopus and yellow ray along with beautiful tropical fish in front of the hotel snorkeling. One of the best parts of our trip and the hotel is that they share Scuba Du, the best or one of the best dive operators with Presidente hotel. Our experience with the Dive shop staff and the dives themselves was excellent. We highly recommend them if you are a diver. The food at the hotel was average. We probably would have gotten tired of the food if we have stayed any longer. The ease of an all-inclusive (not having to carry money) is very convenient. We enjoyed the disco/karaoke bar at night. Overall, we recommend this resort if you are going for one week or less.
