We stayed at Casa del Mar on the ocean and it was a very nice hotel for the money. We got a package deal through Travel Charters or Apple Vacation. It was the cheapest I could find on the ocean with a package deal.

I now stay at Alicia's Bed and Breakfast which is in residential. The rooms are about $45/night for the two of you. The place is spotless and the breakfasts are outstanding. Only drawback is no pool. alicia@gis.net is an email address. They have a website, but I forget the address.

Good things are being said about Hacienda San Miguel. It is close to town, no pool, but lots of charm.

There is a Days Inn on Eleventh that is away from the ocean but right on a major street. I've walked past it and it seems to be decent.

Playa Azul is a bit more money but I've heard only good things about it. It is charming and right on the ocean on the north shore. There is a beach club right next door where I've spent a couple of days. Playa Azul looks to be real nice. I know they have a website too.
