: Leaving for Cozumel on Feb. 13, first time there. Stayed at Fiesta Americana in April of '99...our first trip. We stayed all inclusive, but there are too many places in town to eat more cheaply. I would go European plan now if I stayed there again. We thought it was nice, clean, pretty, and the service was good. Everything worked. The plants were beautiful. The pools were lovely, but I didn't use any of them. The beach was nice and the snorkeling good. Location is superb. Not in town with all of the noise. Not so far south as to cost an arm and leg for taxi fare. We paid 47 pesos for the two of us one way to town. The rate was the same in August of 2000. Don't know about now. I've switched to Alicia's Bed and Breakfast, but I still have only fond thoughts of Fiesta Americana. We were on the top floor with a spectacular ocean view. All rooms face the ocean except the casita suites that are behind the hotel in the jungle. Lower floors do not get a good view of the ocean due to the other buildings between them and the ocean. You won't regret your choice.
