Hi Deb,

I can tell that you won't be staying at El
Cozumeleno. But just for grins, after you've
been at your hotel for a few days, take a trip
over to El Cozumeleno and compare what you see
there against the hotel you stay in.

You eyes will then be opened as to who is giving
you the straight scoop. Yes the pool is a bit
cold, and the exercise equipment needs repair as
well as a few other things, but similar things are
true at most all the Cozumel hotels. On the other
hand, there are a whole bunch of things that are
very right at El Cozumeleno, especially in off
season!!Paradise that is fashioned by human hands
is always gonna have a few cracks. It's best to
just accept that fact and enjoy the other
wonderful things that you encounter.

Anyway, YOU be the judge.

Having said that, I will add that Plaza Las Glorias
is quite nice (remembering, of course, that none
of the hotels in Cozumel are anywhere close to
perfect). But it is not all inclusive, which is
no problem if you've got a bunch of money to spend
on drinks and food in town. Frankly, I've always
wanted to go on the Europeon plan (non all-
inclusive), but my friends and wife demand that we
go all-inclusive, if for no other reason than the
convenience of not having to carry a bunch of cash
and the freedom of just going up to any bar or
restaurant and simply asking for a drink or food
and getting it. It takes the worry out of
spending too much money.

Plaza Las Glorias is also very close to town too -
a big advantage, and all the rooms face the ocean.

How would I rank the hotels in Cozumel, all things
considered?

1. El Cozumeleno
2. El Presidente
3. Plaza Las Glorias
4. Paradisus (if the restoration is complete)

(I've excluded the hotels that are far south
'cause they're just too far from town.) If I did
include those and my sole focus was how nice the
hotel was, it would be:

1. El Presidente
2. El Cozumeleno
3. Allegro
4. Iberostar
5. Reef Club
6. Plaza Las Glorias
7. Paradisus-with completed restoration.(By the
way, the Paradisus has the best shows of any hotel
on the island. They are really worth seeing, and
they have a different show 6 nights a week. Very
creative and excellent dancing by the performers!
Do not underestimate the value of these shows.
They are not Broadway, but you will laugh and
maybe even cry.)

Fiesta Americana and Sol Caribe are 2 of the other
big hotels, but I know little about them.

Hope this helps.

Have a great trip!

Lloyd
