My wife and I found Iberostar to a very nice all inclusive hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. They served us around the pool each day. The room was very nicely decorated, each room has a small ice box and each day the hotel replenishes it with bottled water, coke, diet coke and sprite as well as a couple of beers. The ice box is no charge to you so we drank all of it each day. The room also has a safe that you can put in a pin number to keep your valuables, passports etc safe (no key) and very easy to use. The hotel food was very good and plenty of it, there are two excellent restaurants available (Mexican-must have long pants and collared shirt, the food was very good.) (Steak- the steak was very tender but not as thick as our USA cut's). The other food area's were very good as well. They have chips & guacamole w. salsa that was very good, the food was as close to our USA food as I have found in Mexico all very good. The food area's were well covered. I did not find bugs or anything around the food very clean setup. The hotel is laid out very good and everything is spaced out between the bungalows. There is plenty of landscaping to make you feel like you are in paradise. Birds, flamingos, parrots, are located around the hotel property. The entertainment is ok at best, but we did have a couple of nights that were fun.

The beach is very well laid out and has more than plenty lay-out chairs. The beach area for swimming is not the best as there are rocks in the water and if it is windy you will have large waves unlike if you are closer to downtown. The best place for swimming and snorkeling within a hotel was at Reef Club. We only used the beach for relaxing and laying out at the waters edge.

The only bad things I can say about Iberostar.
1. You can smell a rank smell from time to time but only in some area's.
2. The bed is hard, so take your own pillow
3. Taxi ride is $17.00 each way to town. You can rent jeeps for the day $55.00 per day.

The scuba diving was very good, very organized and the dive shop was a very safe group of people. I go to Cozumel about 5 or 6 times each year and had a great experience with Dresser Divers Club International located within the hotel. They have a very nice setup right at the water's edge with equipment their own air compressors etc. The one thing that is great about this location is that it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to get to the dive sites. Visit them at http://www.dresseldivers.com/engl.html. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at slthomason@home.com or visit my web site at http://www.sthomason.com to see some photo's of diving and the hotel area.

When the photo's are back this week I will post a Iberostar Web page on my web site so you can enjoy some photo's.
