We stayed at the Fiesta Americana for 7 nights during our Easter break this year. We stayed All Inclusive (but you can go either way) and we really enjoyed it. We stayed on the seventh floor and the view was great. All rooms have a balcony facing the ocean, so higher up is wonderful. There are three dining rooms. They serve breakfast and lunch at The Reef (open air across the street). They had a great buffet for those who want to try something new, and for those who want yogurt or a bowl of Frosted Flakes. Say hi to Joseph for us. He waited on us every time we were there. The Tropical Forest serves lunch and dinner. It too is open air with bougainvillea hanging through the branched roof. We ate most of our dinners there. They had a great barbecue and Thursday the Mexican Fiesta was a lot of fun. The service was very friendly. Say hi to Armando, Edwin, David, Raymundo, and Arturo for us. They made dinner fun. The rooms are clean, air conditioned, and quiet. At least ours was. They have safety deposit boxes at the desk for no charge. But don't lose your key for it cuz that's $150 USD charge. There's a basket of munchies, booze, cigarettes, etc. on the dresser. They call it a mini bar. Check the prices before you dip into it. I bought one can of Coke, and it was 26 pesos. That's about $2.60 for a 12 oz. can! So let the buyer beware! A cab into town was 47 pesos for the two of us. We would tell the concierge or the bellman, he would blow a whistle and a cab would appear in a minute or two. Great service! There's a small gift shop on the premises. There's a swim up bar and a lobby bar. All of the restaurants serve booze as well. Al said the margaritas had some strength, but I drank planters punch (rum punch) and they weren't too strong. I really liked the bloody Mary's. There is also a nicer restaurant upstairs. It's not as open and there's more ambiance. I had a great steak, but the service was really poor. We were surprised because we had been so pleased at the other two restaurants and at the lobby bar. Even the snacks we ordered on the beach came with great service. Maybe the Miramar was having a bad night when we went. But we only went there the once. Because we went AI, I didn't pay much attention to the prices. The food was good and plentiful. I do think it might have been a bit pricey for our lifestyle, but we had paid ahead so that we didn't have to worry about it. It made our stay more relaxing. We went on an Apple Tour and Pedro Medina was our tour guide. He was a big help, and made our stay even more enjoyable. One day we rented a Tracker from the guy in the lobby (Miguel). It was $66 USD. The vehicle was fine, no problems...and it was cute! We drove around the east side of the island. I hope that covers everything. I've heard others complain about loud music at their hotel. We didn't have that trouble. It was quiet most of the time we were there. Things may have been loud on the Fiesta night, but we were in the middle of it, so that was a non-issue. They also brought in some vendors on Fiesta night. They had some nice things and decent prices. If you have any specific questions, I would love to answer them. As you can see, I can talk forever about our trip. So let me know if there's something I missed. Oh yeah, there is a dive shop on the property, but we don't dive, so I can't tell you much about them. The Fiesta Americana is melon/orange with a muted yellow lobby. It's all done in stucco. It's very pretty. Lot's a trees and flowering bushes. : How is the Fiesta Americana Cozumel Reef Hotel???
