: I am going on my first vacation in June. I have chose to go to Cozumel. I just don't know where to stay. I want to stay at a nice place(all inclusive), but where? Can anyone recomend a nice place that isn't to family oriented. I am single and will be leaving my kid with her dad, so I don't want to be surrounded by children. (Don't get me wrong, I love kids. Just not when I'm vacationing) Also, can anyone reccomend some fun things to do. Since this is my firt time out of TX, I don't want to be lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
: Thanks, CJ
Hola CJ!
We just got back yesterday from Cozumel. We spent a week at the Fiesta Americana Cozumel Dive Resort. We stayed all inclusive, but you don't have to. We really enjoyed it. It's south of town so out of the chaos and partying. It costs about $5 to take a cab into town. The food was great. There were kids, but not too many. I teach and I know what you mean. Service in the Tropical Forest restaurant was friendly and fun. I would recommend it. I talked to people who stayed at Reef Club and Allegro. They all liked where they stayed. The only place I heard anything negative about was La Ceiba. People told us the food wasn't so good there. All in all, we liked the F.A. We don't travel much but we found the hotel very pretty, clean, cool, and friendly. If you want to be more in the center of things, this might not be your choice.
We also really enjoyed the Gilligan Snorkel tour. It cost $55/person. We got to snorkel two reefs, have lunch on the beach, and party hardy. It was great fun. We deepsea fished for a half day on La Bandida with Capt. Luis Eroza. We really enjoyed that too. The trip to X-Caret was fun, but we didn't take swim wear. Next time we will. I'm sure that you'll enjoy Cozumel. Buena Suerta! Good Luck! Trudy
