Re: Inexpensive AccomadationsPosted by Trudy from Michigan on February 16, 2000 at 21:37:57: In Reply to: Inexpensive Accomadations posted by Jan from Michigan on February 15, 2000 at 21:57:45: : Where is an inexpensive but clean place to stay in Cozumel. We are staying at the Iberostar for most of the time but have 3 nights in limbo. Any reccomendations as to what to do and where to stay, Would it be advisable to take the boat over to the mainland, or is there a chance we would not make it back to fly out of Cozumel? I would highly recommend staying at Alicia's Bed and Breakfast. I met Alicia through the internet due to her charitable works. She is in a residential area and is immaculately clean. She and Chuco can help you see a more "local" side of the island. Alicia has lived on Cozumel for 8 years if I remember correctly. Since you have the beach side, all inclusive thing going for the bulk of your trip, this might be a great alternative. I believe all rooms are less than $50/night and include a breakfast cooked by Chuco. He's a great cook. They are good people. You can email Alicia at alicia@gis.net You can visit the Travelnotes board and go to trip reports. Thorsten posted a great report with pictures. Check it out.
